Our 2018 sailing season is fully underway and there is lots of excitement with our newest ship AmaLea launching March 25 and our Wellness Program expanded onto six ships. 2019 will be even more eventful as we introduce a record-breaking three new ships including the amazing AmaMagna.
Debuting May 2019, AmaMagna is truly luxury redefined and will be the newest and most luxurious ship on the Danube. At twice the width of traditional river ships, AmaMagna offers its 196 guests so much more to love— more unique dining venues, more evening entertainment, more health and wellness amenities and more unexpected leisure activities, like Sun Downer boat tours from her water sports platform and a series of golf excursions - all while delivering the same intimate ambience and friendly, personalized service our guests have come to know with AmaWaterways.
And with most full balcony staterooms measuring an incredible 355 sq. ft. and suites at 474 sq. ft., we believe that this ship will be particularly attractive to new and repeat guests looking for more personal space and a truly unique way to experience the legendary Danube.
The narrow locks of the Rhine-Danube-Main canal can’t accommodate her double width so she is currently being transported on a container ship en route to the Netherlands where her beautiful interior will be completely outfitted. She will again be placed on a cargo ship for her return voyage to the mouth of the Danube on the Black Sea to start her river cruising career on May 5, 2019 cruising between Vilshofen and Budapest.
When we started AmaWaterways in 2002, we said we wanted to offer our guests the type of river cruise experience that we ourselves would enjoy. With AmaMagna, I am so excited to see Rudi’s dream ship come to life and can’t wait to enjoy for myself the panoramic views of the Danube after completing a few laps in the large Sun Deck swimming pool or enjoying a stretching class in the expansive Wellness Center at the rear of the ship.
